I grew up in church, and was baptized at First Baptist Piedmont in 1995.
While in youth ministry, I found myself as the oldest youth in the 10th grade. With some encouragement from my youth minister (Craig Towery - currently at Sentinel), I started helping with the media ministry, leading small groups in children's ministry, teaching at VBS, and working as a sponsor for youth camp during my junior and senior years of high school. The summer before senior year, as a sponsor leading a small group and as the leader of the decision team, I felt the call to ministry. During a worship song in the Tabernacle at Falls Creek, time stood still, and I looked around, feeling a deep desire to lead people to experience the presence of God.
After college, I attended Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, where I was a TA, worked at the library, and graduated with my M.Div in 2017. During seminary and afterwards, I volunteered and was on staff at churches in the Kansas City area.
In 2019, I took a call to First Baptist Waynoka, OK to be their pastor. Leading through COVID and other issues in the community, my wife and I took full-time jobs at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva where I work currently. We volunteer at FBC Alva when available, and I recently did long-term pulpit supply at Lenora Church near Seiling, OK as they searched for a pastor.
